Folliculitis explained
A folliculitis is an inflammation of the hair root caused by germs that invade and multiply in the skin. The inflammation doesn’t only lead to small red dots on the skin, but can also cause itching, pain and swelling. This should be closely monitored, especially in summer, when bacterial growth is additionally promoted.
Laser are the Real Deal
In most cases, the inflammation is caused by shaving or waxing. This is due to the fact that a folliculitis can only occur when the skin has small injuries through which germs can penetrate the skin. While micro-injuries are normal with many hair removal techniques, there is no need to worry about this with lasering! Small red dots may appear on the skin after a laser treatment as well. However, these are not inflammations, but only temporary skin irritations.
Lasering is therefore not only the longer lasting hair removal method, but also the safer one and is therefore particularly suitable for people who suffer from regular folliculitis!
